GovCon Readiness, Inc. was formed to help companies understand the Government contracting process and succeed in getting awards and performing Government contracts. The Federal Government has its own procurement system and process, whereby they attempt to implement various policies through mandatory contract clauses. These contract clauses vary in complexity and cost. None are intuitive, but all must be followed to successfully perform a Government contract.
GovCon Readiness helps companies prepare for successful performance by identifying foundational contract provisions that are common in most government contracts, analyzing company shortfalls and issues, and helping companies resolve those issues to succeed.
Success in Government contracting can increase the value of your company and create a predictable stream of business. Further, due to laws that require contract awards to be set aside for various types of small businesses, this can be an excellent opportunity for small businesses and socioeconomic groups like woman-owned small businesses, veteran-owned small businesses, disadvantaged small businesses, and small businesses in HUBZones. I have spent most of my career in the military focused on federal acquisition laws and regulations. A lot of that work focused on solving a wide range of complex (and time-pressured) contracting problems. Now that I have retired from the military, I focus on using that knowledge to help small businesses successfully navigate the federal procurement process

As a former contracting officer and director of contracting for a DOD activity, I have many years of hands-on experience navigating government customers through the complex federal acquisition process. I am now able to draw on that experience to help small businesses prepare for—and successfully perform—government contracts. I understand the need to translate complex regulations into plain English and actionable tasks for business owners. I focus my efforts on navigating small businesses around bureaucratic pitfalls, so that innovators can focus more of their time on innovation and developing solutions for their government customer.
